German cars. German cars in a shop, where they belong. A 190SL whose fuel system is made primarily of rust. A 330,000 mile 635csi that belongs to a no-shit rocket scientist. A regrettably automatic, soft top, chrome wheeled 993 with oil leaks everywhere, and a boulevardier 380SL. Oh, and a badly neglected 930 Turbo that makes me just a little sad, but not as sad as humanity’s problems make me.
My question is, why the hell do I feel drunk when I am not? Weird. Also, what the fuck is wrong with people?

If you feel drunk you need to start drinking enough to catch up!
That Porsche makes me sad.
People suck.
Covered? Yup!

I feel drunk when sober if there’s an earthquake.

Like drunk drunk? Or buzzed? Could be lack of sleep, too much caffeine, lots of things.

A combination of sleep deprivation and introspection?
And

Sinusitis? It has happened to me before...

You’re probably sleep deprived.
Some people just suck at life.

Inner ear problems? Is it like drunken balance and nausea?

I sober up in a hurry if there’s an earthquake.

Like uncomfortably buzzed. I had a couple of beers early, but felt like much more. Probably sleep deprived, I don’t do caffeine really.

This is probably exactly it. Two beers hours prior should not have caused that feeling.

I do have screwy sinuses.

Both of those things are true.

More like just a really cloudy head and dry mouth. Better now, but I hate that feeling.

That about covers it!

Yes it is! Buy one now before they get more expensive.

I’m so happy and sad that Turbo 930 was in the shop when I came by. I wish I had the money to just get it running and drive it around like it is.

Hopefully you got some sleep last night. Sleep deprivation will *#%< you up.

Eh, sleep was so-so. Hard to turn the mind off sometimes. Feel better though.

Yeah, I know how that goes.

It’s just the world telling you to...
Go. Fix. That. Flavia!
Even this didn’t get me drunk last Saturday:
2 euros a liter!!!! What is this madness????

You’re right! I actually emailed Jaan about it, he got back with some very useful info, so I’m trying to keep making some kind of progress on it.
When I was in Italy, I didn’t feel sauced once because I don’t really have the palette for wine. I tried a lot (Grappa?!?! What is that rocket fuel about!!), but don’t enjoy it so I drank all the beer in Tuscany for week and never even felt what 3 IPAs will do on a normal Friday night here. But for 2E/Liter it’d be hard not to become a wino. :)

Haha, I totally loved Jaan’s story on the fuel injected Citroën GSA! Those French sellers really messed with him.
If you have the palette for an IPA, you’ll learn to love wine in a heartbeat. Pinot Grigio, Barolo, a decent Prosecco: just take your time and you’ll enjoy ‘m to the fullest! Grappa could even get those rusty heads of your Flavia start running again. End your meal with an Espresso accompanied with a Sambucca. That 2 euro vino rosso wasn’t that good actually. They had a vino bianco as well for that kind of money. It started to taste excellent after 4 euros ;-)
I spotted a Lancia garage near Comacchio: Which engine did your Flavia have? I’m planning to walk in and just ask around for the Testas .

That’s quite a story for sure, I remember reading that one!
I always try my wife’s wines, I’ve just never met one I felt like consuming a glass of. Maybe someday :)
My car has the 1500 with two carbs, but I don’t think the heads were different between single and twin carb engines. Not sure if they were different on the 1.8s. Thanks!

How can one not remember it! If he ever sells that one even I’ll be in line to get it!
Ah, expect an update in... A few days. ;-)

I’m out of town tomorrow through Sunday evening, going out into the Sierras to play some music and ride some mountain bikes, I’ll look for your report when I get back :)

Apparently, working on a 635csi is more like rocket surgery.

On this one especially, considering it’s now on a return trip from the moon by mileage! Great, great cars, but little things start to go wrong that no service manual helps with when they rack up this kind of tally.
